As part of the Institute's curriculum, he was required to fulfill (4) terms of cooperative employment in his chosen course of study. This was the beginning of his 25-plus year career in the applied sciences.

After graduation, he accepted a position as a project surveyor in the US Virgin Islands where he provided surveying and engineering services for the private sector, local government and US federal offices. He gained invaluable technical, managerial and cultural experience while living abroad.

Returning stateside in 1995, he began work as a consulting civil engineer, and since has been involved with environmental (USEPA) reclamation, retail-commercial-institutional development, building rehabilitation, public works, flood control and transportation projects. He continued his professional development by completing some graduate study at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, attending short courses, seminars and workshops. He began his pursuit of certification as a Professional Engineer and Licensed Land Surveyor in 1998.

With time, he entered into project management roles where he managed the challenges of large-scale development and building rehabilitation projects. His experience includes LEED-certified projects, planned developments, subdivisions, big-box retail sites, industrial and high-tech complexes, educational facilities, corporate campuses and custom housing. He has worked in conjunction with renowned architects, LEED-green building pioneers, award winning landscape architects, top environmental and biological experts, professional contractors, builders and real estate investors. He has vast experience in working with local, state and federal permitting offices. He has served as the client's whip on many projects, coordinating the efforts and activities of architects, contractors, consultants, approving authorities and agencies.

He holds registration as a Connecticut Professional Engineer and Licensed Land Surveyor.
